06/27/2012 Cozy and Comfortable

Once we found the Riad, we were very happy to stay there. it is actually in a very good location, near the Medina entrance and the parking area where taxis can access. The rooms we stayed in were snug, pleasant and with reliable air conditioning.

Breakfast was bountiful with different kinds of homemade traditional breads, eggs, coffee and of course, mint tea.

We also had a fantastic guide to the Medina named Khadija ( She was so knowledgeable and obviously well-respected that we hired her for two days. Several people on the streets including merchants we were not visiting stopped us to say how lucky we were to be with the nicest guide in Fes. I would heartily recommend her.

06/14/2012 Great place to stay in Fes

An amazing Moroccan style palace beautifully restored. Chill by the pool or sunbathe on the roof terrace this charming Riad is a great place to stay in Fés. Well situated just one minute walk from the Medina, easy to find (the medina is a vertible labyrinth) . Breakfast is included and is fit for a king with a myriad of diferent breads, pancakes eggs etc. juices, teas, coffees. Rooms are comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

05/13/2012 Accoglienza familiare in ottima posizione

05/07/2012 A family holiday in Fes

Riad Layalina was the perfect base for our family holiday in Fes this Easter. A stone’s throw from the entrance to the Medina, the location couldn’t have been better. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms had plenty of hot water, and the delicious breakfast really set us up for the day’s exploring and adventure. We were looked after impeccably well by the charming team, for whom nothing was too much trouble. We could not recommend the Riad highly enough.

04/17/2012 Lovely riad, great location

We stayed at Riad Layalina for 4 nights in April 2012, 1 night in a suite and 3 nights in a triple room. There are 7 rooms around a beauitiful restored courtyard. There is a small plunge pool but it was a bit too cold when we were there. The location is just a few minutes walk from the a medina through a car park. The staff Abdul, Anise and Fatima were all very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful, usually with 3 breads, jams, cheese, croissants, fresh juices, mint tea, coffee etc. The first morning we asked for breakfast to be served on the roof terrace, which was willingly provided. Beds were large, very firm and comfortable. There was good WiFi reception in our room and in the courtyard with no problems. We were offered help with our luggage on arrival and departure. Mint tea was provided on arrival. we were given lots of helpful advice about places to go and lent a guidebook and a map. We were even given a few useful phrases in Arabic. English, French and Arabic spoken by staff. We knew in advance that credit cards were not accepted this would have been more convenient for us. We would recommend staying here and would stay here again.

04/03/2012 An oasis of calm within the hustle and bustle of fes

Riad leylallina was the highlight of our trip and we could not recommend it enough. The staff (two young chaps) at the riad made our stay in fes stress free, with knowledgable guides, taxis and excursions organised on our request.

Breakfast was great and when we mentioned getting a train to Marrakech at 6am, the staff were only too happy to wake up to make sure we had been fed and had food for the train.

The room and the general decor really made us feel like we were experiencing the real morroco albeit the luxurious side.

02/03/2012 Excellent location and a very beautiful Riad

Based on the TripAdvisor reviews I booked three night in this Riad and I was not disappointed.

First, the location is superb. In all the Riads that I have ever visited this was the easiest one to find and least amount of walk to get to. Yet, it was easy to access to the best parts of the Medina and around the Medina.

Second, since I had booked 3 nights, I was served a simple dinner yet finger licking delicious. Then, I was served Mint tea, and mean while I was checked in.

Third, the room was superb. It was one of the roomiest room and bath area I saw in all Riads that I have been. The decor was just amazing (see my pictures). The bed was huge and comfortable. There was a good WiFi reception everywhere, including in my room. Safe, hair drier, satellite TV, Shampoo, Soap, Towel were all included.

Forth, the breakfast was made all fresh while I was at the table (bread, OJ, Pancake, fired bread, etc.) and was very deciduous (Fatima is an excellent cook)

Finally. The check out was painless and fast and the two brothers Abdul and Anis are really nice boys.

On the whole, I was pleased and I would stay in this place again, and I would certainly recommend the place to others.

01/06/2012 Very beatiful, perfect location

The Riad is located just next to an enterance of the Fès medina. It is right next to a parking lot, so if you have rented a car, like we did, it is very easy to access. We were here in the last week of December with a family of 4. 2 kids of 14 and 12. We stayed one night in the suite and one night in the junior suite.

What we liked:
– perfect location
– the atmosphere and entourage was great! Nicely decorated, beautiful ceilings.
– great rooftop terrace
– nice and yummy breakfast!
– junior suite we liked better then the suite. (warmer room)

01/04/2012 A Riad that reflects the true Morocco

We chose this Riad from the positive reviews in Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. Close to the Medina (2min walk) and friendly, helpful staff. It has been tastefully restored but you need to be prepared for the hard mattresses. You can grab an excellent take away meal for approx US$3 from the Medina cooked in front of you and eat it back in the Riad courtyard adjacent to the plunge pool. It is worth hiring a guide for your first day to get your bearings around the Medina. Day trips to Volubilis and Meknes are easy and worthwhile – hire a guide through the Medina but make sure the price is agreed by all parties before you set off. Waking up at 4:00am to the roosters crowing is an experience in itself but all part of a great travel adventure. The roof top terrace is amazing and worth having breakfast up there.

Riad Layalina and it’s staff made our trip to Fez one to remember. I cannot even begin to explain all.
